Mountain Air Cargo Launches BQN-SLU Route Utilizing Unit Load Device (ULD) System
Mountain Air Cargo is excited to share that the international route operating from BQN to SLU will now implement the ULD (Unit Load Device) system configuration. Launching Monday, July 14th with aircraft 710FE, this new freight configuration will replace the previous bulk loading system on this route, marking the second ATR72-600 from BQN to implement the ULD configuration.
Our international team, in close collaboration with our customer, successfully completed the ULD conversion on aircraft 710FE, an ATR 72-600, this past February. In contrast to the traditional “bulk loading” method, a unit load device is specifically designed for efficiently loading freight. This method enables the pre-loading of cargo, ensuring the containerized load fits the aircraft, streamlining aircraft weight and balance planning, and reducing labor and time during the loading process.
The integration of the ULD system is expected to enhance the overall efficiency of our cargo handling and reduce loading times, and we are excited to continue utilizing this optimized loading process to improve our operations and provide better service to our customer.
