Mountain Air Cargo Launches BQN-POS Route Utilizing Unit Load Device (ULD) System

Mountain Air Cargo is excited to share that the international route operating from BQN to POS will now implement the ULD (Unit Load Device) system configuration. Our international team, in close collaboration with FedEx, successfully completed the ULD conversion on aircraft 710FE, an ATR 72-600, this past week in preparation for the operation starting on February 3rd.

In contrast to the traditional “bulk loading” method, a unit load device is specifically designed for efficiently loading freight. This method enables the pre-loading of cargo, ensuring the containerized load fits the aircraft, streamlining aircraft weight and balance planning, and reducing labor and time during the loading process.

The integration of the ULD system is expected to enhance the overall efficiency of our cargo handling and reduce turnaround times, and we are excited to utilize this optimized loading process to improve our operations and provide better service to our customer.
