Director of Heavy Maintenance

Kyle Thompson brings more than 15 years of aviation maintenance and manufacturing leadership to his role as Director of Heavy Maintenance at Mountain Air Cargo. Kyle most recently served as Accountable Manager for Victory Lane Aviation’s FAA Part 145 repair stations in Concord, Charlotte, and Wilmington, North Carolina, where he held full authority over station operations, quality control, FAA regulatory compliance, and safety management systems, and served as the stations’ primary point of contact with the FAA.

Before moving into aviation leadership full time, Kyle spent nearly four years at Siemens Energy in Charlotte, North Carolina, supervising gas turbine rotor and engine assembly teams of up to 40 employees across multiple shifts. His background also includes work as an aircraft maintenance technician on PT6A engines, technical records manager overseeing continued airworthiness for a fleet of more than 60 helicopters, and director of a turbine engine overhaul shop and field service organization spanning multiple states.

Kyle holds an FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license and a certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Technology from Greenville Technical College.
